The Ann Arbor railroad was chartered in 1895, and operates from Toledo Ohio to Frankfurt Michigan. In 1980 the Ann Arbor railroad aquriered the Tuscola and Saginaw Bay Railway (in my AARR seniaro, they do not go bankrupt in 1976 :) ). Currently they operate trains thought all of Michigan and into Toledo. Some of the current trains running on the system are the same as they have been for years, FT-1, TF-1, FT-2, and TF-2. They run locals and other trains from Toledo to Owosso to Toledo (OT-1, TO-1), Ann arbor to Toledo (AT-1, TA-1), and some others. They currently roster gp38-2's, GP35's, sw1500's, dash 8's, and SD70ACe's

Over the weekend the Ann Arbor had talks with National Rail Equipment about ordering genset locomotives for switching in Toledo, Ann Arbor/ Saline, Owosso, and Frankfurt. They would like to order 8 gensets.

The Gp38-2's are in the 6900 series (6900-6919) and are all ex BN. they are painted into a modern "Ann Arbor Railroad System" scheme.

All Have been Sold

The gp38-2's commonly assist the SD70Ace's on mainline freight trains and can also be found switching at Toledo, Owosso, and Frankfurt.

Ferry in the Fog is one of my favorite all-time logo's

I like the 38-2. Its a later version that does not get much attention. Q Fans and longer nose and anticlimber.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Talks concluded early today with national rail equipment. The Ann Arbor will order 8 3GS21B genset's. The units will be delivered over the next 3 months (part of the deal was a quick delivery) and will be numbered 1-8

This segment was once for sale (around 1995) and I was hoping AA would make a bid but CR withdrew the line from bidding after receiving some interest.

In order for the Ann Arbor to get the contract, NS or SEMCOG will have to terminate the current contract. The Ann Arbor RR will put out an offer to SEMCOG by the end of the week. All current interchanges would be kept, along with a restoration of the Connector in Ann Arbor
