Re: Detroit, Grand Rapids, & Porter Railway

I case the first post was confusing, here is where the line runs (Pending the official map from the Michigan thread, some of these may turn to trackage rights):
CSX Grand Rapids Sun
CSX Grand Rapids Terminal Sub
CSX Plymouth Sub
CSX From Plymouth to Flint
CSX from Plymouth to Toledo (eventual trackage rights to Stanley Yard)
CSX DEtroit Sub (or whatever goes into DET from Plymouth)
CSX Fremont Sub
CSX branch to Hamilton
MMRR from West Olive to Fremont, line to Montague is STILL IN
C&M, GRE from Coopersville, past Fuller, to Lowell and then up to Greenville
ALL LSRC & SBS (yes they are now one) TRACKAGE
ALL MQT Trackage (In this senario, tracks do still exsist from Baldwin to Evart)

Train Symbols coming later this afternoon.....Its a pretty long list LOL due to the increased traffic & CP trains

Due to the extra warm spring, Loaded stone trains from Specification Stone in Alpena will begin on Wednesday, March 21st instead of Monday, April 2nd. Expect several empty hopper trains from GRP to Alpena to get the hoppers from their winter storage. 5 trains of 100 cars each are scheduled to run with a call time of 700 EST out of GRP, running on March 19th, 21st, 23rd, 27th, and 29th. Expected arrival time to Alpena is 46 hours after their departure from GR. They are routed from GRP-SAG (Saginaw)-TAW (East Tawas)-ALP (Alpena). Saginaw and E. Tawas are crew-change points

Breaking News: The FRA has decided to allow the Detroit, Grand Rapids and Porter Railway to be exempt from PTC on the grounds that we install a alert system similar to that on the Quebec North Shore and Larador railroad. Because it is ATCS based, our trains will not need PTC to access other railroads via trackage rights or reroutes. We will have to have the system installed by the same deadlines as those for PTC. this decision has also declared, that if given approval by the FRA, any railroad can use this system instead of PTC. The DGR&P is excited to use this system over the junky PTC system, and has already contracted with Gentex of Zeeland Michigan to design the equipment for the locomotive. All route required to have PTC ( all former CSX track) already has ATCS, so the LSRC/SBS will not need this system, but all locos will have it installed.

After tying up the NS for an hour, the last CP train has cleared the Jct. the NS dispatcher is furious...it's safe to assume the Amtrak to GR will be late tonight as the traffic will still be jammed

PRESS RELEASE:
The Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Porter Railway has filed paperwork to change the company name to a shorter, more fitting name: Marquette Rail. The DGR&P still holds the rights to the name and reporting mark from the old MQT, which was bought in late 2009. The DGR&P already uses the old MQT paint scheme for most of it's locomotives. another reason to re name the company to Marquette was the similarities: the DGR&P is employee owned, and many of the staff are ex MQT employees. if approved on Monday, the railroad will officially be under the new banner on Wednesday.

The DGRP is acquiring 18 locomotives from the AA. They will be brought to Wyoming and overhauled to -3 status. They will serve in yard duties and on the non upgraded mains ( old MS, GRE, LSRC)

Lol ok I'm not going to quote 3 pages of stuff but CFE 3885 is now DT&C 9139, since the DT&C is comprised of the CF&E, AN&M, and IORY.

nope, because the DGRP bought the MS/MMRR, and then bought the unit from CF&E...

I guess you'll be needing to find some replacements

DGRP SD70ACe #6019 is currently goin g through Fowlerville, going to Plymouth to pick up the non-EMD ex LSRC units to bring them to Wyoming for repainting before the tourist season (they were overhauled by the shops in saginaw and are coming for paint, they are going to pull passenger tourist specials this summer. This would make for a neet sighting along the line, as none of these units has been on the move is a few years. This train will then go south at tie up on the AA @ Osmer to pick up the GP35s. Recrew called for them at 700 EDT tomorrow to take the train to GR
