I just get them form Google search, and use my computers paint program. one of the hardes things to do is keep all of the details if you paint over the details

How about some progress? here is the tight curve layed out and nailed down. its pretty tight, but it is prefect for a small engine and two 40 ft box cars, I only used one in the video...

A video of my Conrail GP40 picking up a Grand Trunk 40 ft boxcar

The first attempt at making the video...

thats what i get for not checking the switch  ohh well, no engines or railcars were harmed in the making of these videos.

What I still need to do is by like 3 more switches, some more track and get down to wireing the layout.

Very good start! Are you also going to repaint your locomotives into the YTRR paint schemes anytime soon?

I plan on it, hopefully in the next few weeks. i have a unit that i would probably repaint, but I need to pick up some other used engines at train shows... as it turns out, i like all of the engines i have too much to repaint them :D

Yikes, that is a very sharp curve  It works for you and all but is there something you can do to get it to at least a minimum of 15" (18" is better yet). If not I suppose it will be fun dealing with the operational challenges :)

I like the tight curve just for that reason

That is a very tight radius on the inner curve in the first video, not to mention an S-curve coming out of it. The S-curve shouldn't be too bad, though, as you probably can't run any long cars around that tight radius.

And as much as I dislike graffiti on railroad equipment, I would love to see someone paint "Go Hurons!" on the side of that EMU engine!

Alright Ypsi, I've been googling drawing templates and cannot find any. What did you search to find yours? Also, if I don't have a Photobucket or Flickr account, can I still upload pics to here? As in from my documents? I don't want to go make a colorful drawing then realize I can't upload it to here :P
