CSX Plymouth Sub blocks question
With all fo CSX's converting the signals to the new style and all, the CSX Michigan websites have changed with them. I can only find the names of the Lake O to Cash blocks. Can someone give me a list of all the blocks on the Plymouth Sub? Thanks!

Thats all there is. All 5 blocks. There are "blocks" for the entire railroad from end to end, but they only get used when there is a suspenson of the signal system.
If you are refering to the control point signals, the ones that come down and new ones put up, they for the most part are in the same exact place. Mabey a few changes, but I would expect mabey only one out of 100, if that.

So even before the new signals it was only 5 blocks? I didnt know that. The only reason I ask though is because Im making the End/Begin DTC signs for my route and the ones Ive seen have 4 signs on one post. So then, would Lake O's sign simply have 2 signs with one being "End Lake O DTC Block" on one side and "Begin Lake O DTC Block" on the other?

The two signs should be back to back (four on one post)
The should say for example
End Ledge
DTC Block
Begin Field
DTC Block
Then on the opposit side it should say
End Field
DTC Block
Begin Ledge
DTC Block
The should say for example
End Ledge
DTC Block
Begin Field
DTC Block
Then on the opposit side it should say
End Field
DTC Block
Begin Ledge
DTC Block

Yes only if you ran around the other side of the sign (looking the opposit way you are now, it would read the opposit. It would say
END
Jordan
DTC Block
Begin
Lako
DTC block
All on the same pole.
END
Jordan
DTC Block
Begin
Lako
DTC block
All on the same pole.

Mabey its just the train simulater, then, cause it looks like it is only two signs facing one way. The other looks to be down the tracks 500' or so. In real life they (all 4) would be on the same pole.

It's probably just the angle. I can assure you there's two sets of them there (occupying the same spot)...without scripting (which I don't know how to do), you can only give an object one name, which is used as the custom lettering on the sign. One is named LAKO, the other is named JORDAN. There is another one down the track a ways...that was just a test setup to try them out. But I gave them names I was familiar with Also, the way it's set up, one has to be left hand, and one right hand, to get them to be on the same side of the track. If you line the two of them up right, you only see one pole.sd70accsxt700 wrote:Mabey its just the train simulater, then, cause it looks like it is only two signs facing one way. Yes Sir's verry good. Must have been the angle of the screen shot. Didnt look like four, looked like they were down the track. That also explains the other set of signs.

I don't know about Nicks, but mine aren't for any specific one. You custom name them as you place them in the game, so they can be anything you want them to be. Although I never uploaded mine to the Trainz download site, so they aren't available anywaysd70accsxt700 wrote:I dont suppose any of you are going to do one for Toledo to Saginaw? Im pretty much foccused on Plymouth-Grand Rapids in terms of MSTS work. Since theres only 5 blocks, Itll save me some work.
So would the signs be set up like this:
Sign 1
End Lake O DTC Block (Other side) Begin Lake O DTC Block
Sign 2
End Lake O DTC Block (Other side) End Jordan DTC Block
Begin Jordan DTC Block Begin Lake O DTC Block
Sign 3
End Jordan DTC Block (Other side) End Field Jordan DTC Block
Begin Field DTC Block Begin Jordan DTC Block
Sign 4 (Shown)
End Field DTC Block (Other side) End Ledge Jordan DTC Block
Begin Ledge DTC Block Begin Field DTC Block
Sign 4
End Ledge DTC Block (Other side) End Cash Jordan DTC Block
Begin Cash DTC Block Begin Ledge DTC Block
Sign 1
End Cash DTC Block (Other side) Begin Cash DTC Block
So would the signs be set up like this:
Sign 1
End Lake O DTC Block (Other side) Begin Lake O DTC Block
Sign 2
End Lake O DTC Block (Other side) End Jordan DTC Block
Begin Jordan DTC Block Begin Lake O DTC Block
Sign 3
End Jordan DTC Block (Other side) End Field Jordan DTC Block
Begin Field DTC Block Begin Jordan DTC Block
Sign 4 (Shown)
End Field DTC Block (Other side) End Ledge Jordan DTC Block
Begin Ledge DTC Block Begin Field DTC Block
Sign 4
End Ledge DTC Block (Other side) End Cash Jordan DTC Block
Begin Cash DTC Block Begin Ledge DTC Block
Sign 1
End Cash DTC Block (Other side) Begin Cash DTC Block

Yes you have it. A couple of things. You cant End blocks in both directions. If your example is running eastbound from GR to Lansing, you would Begin Lako first. Second, im sure they are typeagraphical errors, but some say both block names in the end side. And last (and I will have to double check this) but I believe that, the top sign will always be Begin (on both sides) with the bottom sign being End (on both sides), like so.
This is in a eastbound direction
Begin
Lako
DTC Block
(other side)
End
Lako
DTC Block
Next Signs
Begin
Jordan
DTC Block
End
Lako
DTC Block
(other side)
Begin
Lako
DTC Block
End
Jordan
DTC Block
Next Signs
Begin
Field
DTC Block
End
Jordan
DTC Block
(other side)
Begin
Jordan
DTC Block
End
Field
DTC Block
ect. ect. ect.

End

Do they have the END on top or bottom? I don't know that I've ever photographed either one. I designed my DTC signs based on photos I had of other signs, which, all but one had the END on top and BEGIN on the bottom.Nick Rose wrote:Thanks for the help guys!
