I have uploaded a new video in the Steel Rails series.

This video shows replacing ties on the Coopersville and Marne Railroad.
See both machinery assisted and manual tie replacement.

He's quite the spokesperson. Robby and Fred are working hard, too. Anybody know who the two kids are on top of the ties? Is the younger one Ryan?

Ryan is the blondie, the other one is Ernie's nephew, Ernie was the engineer. Neil Puetz was running the tie crane. If it was filmed in 1995, I was 45, I'll turn 70 on July 3.

Ernie was retired IBM guy and hobby farmer from Augusta before he moved to east of Munising, 24 miles from the closest grocery store. But it is a beautiful place on Lake Superior.
That was before Fred started letting Ryan run the engine. I did have to put a stop to that. :D
Lots of good memories from those days 8). We played hard (tie work by hand is work) but had lots of fun.
