It has been a while since I uploaded a new video. But with the Stay Home Stay Safe Order I find I have some free time.

Steel Rails Vol 3 No 5 has been uploaded https://youtu.be/tlLFh1L3c_k

Filmed in January of 1994 we see West Olive Coal trains powered with Burlington Northern and Grand Trunk locomotives.
Also seen are:
Seaboard System MP15s switching at Wyoming, MI yard
Moving locomotives at the engine house including a Santa Fe SD40

This series of videos was made to promote the Grand Rapids Model Railroad Club in Grand Rapids Michigan starting in 1992

We have about 48 episodes in the Steel Rail Series covering a variety of Railroad subject within a one day drive of Grand Rapids MI. Like and Subscribe to be notified of new uploads

Cool. I've video of a westbound loaded train between Hudsonville and Zeeland from around this same time. I'll find it tonight and see if the loco numbers are the same as those BN\GTW units.

Can I ask how you got your video from VHS to digital? PM me if you want.

Thanks,

While other railroads are using 6 axle 3000 HP units on unit coal trains in typical GTW fashion the assign a pair of GP38-2's  .
