Grand Trunk in Saginaw Question

There's something regarding the GTW's operations in Saginaw that's got me curious.

When the railroad took over the PC/Conrail lines in the area, what became of their own mainline? They didn't tear up the segment from Mershon north to Bay City until 1987 when the railroad was making major cuts system wide. Did they reduce it to industrial status or did certain trains (like transfers) still use that part of the line?

Also, where were GTW's facilities in Bay City? Looking at a topographical map circa 1976, the GTW seems to merge with the CR mainline on the town's southeast side. Did they formerly have a yard that was shut down and removed some time before?

I am told GTW had a small yard in downtown Bay City on the west side of the river. But I don't know exactly where it was. GTW's traffic was low in Bay City until they took over PC's track.

I'll have to look into that. I was told on the Michigan Board that GTW also had trackage in the downtown area (east side of the river) but that was probably for passenger trains way back in 50's and 60's.

I wonder how many trains GTW was running at the peak of their possession of the PC? There's the Bay City-Durand trains but I wonder if they ran any trains over the Saginaw Branch to Owosso and further west to Grand Rapids and Muskegon?
