GR&I?

Any historical questions can be posted here. Answers would certainly help as well :)

GR&I?

I take it the rail line that currently heads north to Petoskey from Cadillac is the old GR&I. While up north last weekend, I took this photo of the rail line paralleling US 131 near Fife Lake, MI.
It is milepost 367. Would that be 367 miles from Cincinnati? Google says, via I-75, it is 467 miles, but that is taking I-75, not going following the route of the GR&I.

I heard somewhere that it was the distance from Richmond, IN. Don't know if that is correct or not.

Richmond, Indiana is correct.
