I added to the album two sections of the proposed bridge drawing
Fletcher's Creek feeds into the head waters of the Manistee River just northwest of the Ann Arbor railroad bridge over the Manistee river
Claggett's is what the Ann Arbor railroad referred to the area of West Sherman, probably like most railroad sidings are named after the business served

Your bridge drawings match what I saw when I was out there last week.Henry F. Burger wrote:I added to the album two sections of the proposed bridge drawing

Re: Manistee & N.E. River Branch
The bridge opening is too small for a road
I added to my album a couple of pieces of a proposed drawing for the bridge
Claggett's is the name on the Ann Arbor RR for the siding
Fletcher's creek is part of the headwater which makes up the Manistee river and is located northwest of the Ann Arbor RR bridge over the Manistee river

Same here. Good stuff, Pixi. The maps and on-location photos are great.AARR wrote:I'm enjoying your posts, Pixl!

My mother grew up in northern Missaukee County not to far south of here. I asked her if she could recall any buildings standing when she was a kid. All she can remember is seeing foundations. That would have been late 1940's-50's.Pixl wrote:
Was there a station here or just a town. All I could find of your McGee is a couple pictures of run down houses taken around 2008. No mention of a station.

Re: Manistee & N.E. River Branch
I have added to my photograph album under Ann Arbor 3 drawings for the Manistee & Northeastern
The Arcadia & Betsey River from Henry to Copemish was built by the Ann Arbor RR using a old right of way and second hand rail
At Glengarry the M&NE leased some trackage from the Ann Arbor RR, which was build by the people of West Sherman (Glengarry) to get a rail connection for the sawmill
