I love this sequence of shots. It's the first weekend run of PM 1225 on the North Pole Express, and it's a chilly, windy but sunny day. I stake out a position a little out of Owosso and wait for the inevitable to happen. Sure enough... first it's the whistle we hear, and then the pounding exhaust. The wind is blowing briskly from the west and the exhaust plume nudges into the viewfinder. Finally I get a good look of the engine, make one last exposure adjustment, and click away.

Of course with the engine coming out of the sun, the exposure is tricky, but since the pixels are all 'under the histogram,' I'm in luck, and thanks to the editor, I get my shot.
