detroit train derailment

While looking for an article on the Dow "death train" I also came across this clipping from 1988 or 89. Article says GT railroad over I-94 between Lodge and Grand River.

I remember this one. Track failure. Post accident the GT officials walked the line and found that it was in pretty bad shape. They threw a lot of money into that line to bring it up to snuff. I was able to drive up to the boxcar on the service drive before they closed off the roads. Took about 24 hours to get things moving again.
