Manifest Schedule Changes
CP97, (Canadian Pacific 97), is annulled on October 1st. It is now running as NFLR (Northland Flyer), a new train, from the L&N, at Covington, KY. over the B&O, to Toledo, and ending, at Detroit. NFLR is using the old CP97 time slot, between Walbridge, and Rougemere.
Also a new train the SFLR (Southland Flyer), has been started, to move high-priority freight between Canada/Michigan, and the south and southwest, it is to be used for all types of freight. Chessie and Family Lines, will run it in partnership, with CP, to provide fast dependable service. The major benafactor, of the new train will be, blocks of cars that CP will assemble in Toronto and foward to C&O/CP manifest 937. The cars will travle on Chessie at Detroit, and into Cincinnati, with a undisturbed run of about 538 miles. The train will be reclassified at Cincinnati's Queensgate yard, and turned over to Family Lines, for foardwarding to Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Mempis, and other cities. This train is intended to compete, with a CN-GT-DT&I-SR route. SLFR is called to take 39 hours, and 15 minutes, between Toronto, and Cincinnati, the other route (CN-SR) will take 39 hours even.
