Pere Marquette/C&O Wye in Mears

When was the wye in Mears removed? Did it survive after the line to Pentwater was removed? I ask because some maps I've seen show the wye in place long after the Pentwater line disappeared. It made sense to me that there would be a place to turn engines after working the customers in Hart (less necessary after dieselization, but still handy), but poking around in Mears last week I could find no trace of the north leg ROW, nor any evidence of the Pentwater line (the west leg of the wye) north of the south switch. An oldtimer in Mears remembered that the Pentwater line was torn up in the mid-30s and showed me where it went north through town, but couldn't remember whether the wye survived longer than that. Of course, the Hart-Montague Trail traces the south leg now.

Check out this site. The 1955 image seems to show a bit of where the wye was, and the 1931 topo is even more specific.`

Thank you. That narrows the time frame between 1913 and 1955. Can anyone be more specific about date the wye was removed? The location is pretty-much pinned down; the ROW of the north leg has structures built on it, so the date of its removal cannot be recent. KJN
