Brady Tower, Ravenna, OH

Unread post by bdconrail29 »

Hello everyone,

I was over at BA Tower this past weekend where the EL mains go over the PRR C&P line. Interestingly, the P&O Canal went through here, and the EL eastbound main actually takes the old original PRR route to Ravenna while the WB main follows the canal bed for awhile. Anyways, I cannot locate anything on BA Tower and what operations it performed for the EL. Does anyone know? I did make a very good effort around the internet and even in books. Thanks!

This tower, right, that's still standing?

I thought it was a block station on the Pennsy.

Yeah that's the one. I forgot it was a PRR tower. Most of the photos of it I have are EL photos, which is why I was confused.

Yes, it's still standing, surprisingly.

Well like most Pennsy structures it was massively overbuilt and redundant past about WWII.

I found this on Google Earth. If it is the same tower it has been fixed up and parking lot paved since the 1980 photo. Possibly in use with the bike trail now.
