Hey yall, is there
a place you go online or by catalogue to get things like parts and acessories for your computer, camera, antenna, scanner etc... Where do you go to get your thing?
here are some of mine www.universalradio.com, www.aesham.com and
www.randl.com
i avoid places like best buy, radio shack, because their such ripoffs

After doing a little more research i found the price for my icom icv8 at both gigaparts and randl to be identical. They are very pricey at the other two stores. I had a Yaesu VX150 and was not impressed by the slow scanning speeds. My icom scans 40 channels a second. Programming my icom was a bear compared to my radio shack scanner i previously owned, it was going from high school to college lol.
Hey Zach, how do you like your vx170? is it faster than the vx 150?

the vx-170 is fine so far... need to buy my antennas and adapters to really get some use out of it. Not sure how the vx-150 is, never owned one. Only had a uniden bearcat 30 channel scanner before this.. I'm hoping the new scanner will have better sensitivity than the bearcat does..it's supposed to at least. Can scan all 91 railroad channels in about 2-3 seconds. Didn't even have to program them in one by one..just set it to scan 160.215 to 161.565 and scan at .150 intervals....(hint for you scott)
