Anyone ever watch the Galesburg webcam :?: I was watching it this morning and a very long tank train went through with one BNSF Dash-9, two hoppers most likely buffer cars, and close to or more than a hundred tankers with most of them ADM ones. I'm thinking its one of them Ethanol Express™ Unit Trains. Impressive how many cars one engine can pull :!: Typing this a unit ore train goes through with little ore jimmies. The image below updates every minute as their camera captures a different image each minute.

Here's something else. I actually was able to see the 261 live on the webcam back on 6/25/04 and going both ways through town :D

I watched the Amtrak stop on the road crossing and then then those colors started. If the camera was zoomed in it was really shaky. I think Illinois was having 50 mph wind gusts unless that was only Chicago.

Was watching the cam around 6:30 this evening (1/08/05) and it was quit entertaining. First a BNSF train comes into Galesburg with EMDX 9031 leading, a BNSF unit, SD50 in CR paint (NS), CSX SD40-2, and CSX 7378 with a long train. The end of that train clears the crossing when a long BNSF train leaving goes across. Then halfway through that train an intermodal heads into Galesburg, following pretty close to the first train mentioned. It was amusing seeing the motorists turning around at the crossing.

Went on to RR Picture Archives tonight and found a few pics of the train with EMDX 9031 leading, they can be found in the album below.

Like the picture of the kids in the snow in front of the DEEX train.
