Younger members: are you interested in learning more about Railroad and Intermodal Transportation? If so, you might be interested in Michigan Tech's annual Summer Youth Program (SYP) on the subject!

The one week program could see you travelling up to Michigan's Scenic Keweenaw Peninsula and the Twin Ports of Duluth/Superior, for a week of learning about the railroad and transportation industries.

This year's edition will run July 9-15. It is open to students who will be entering 9th-12th grade this fall. To apply, please visit follow the links below!

The schedule is not yet final, but past year's students have visited, for example, Iron Ore Mining Operations around Marquette and the LS&I Railroad, BNSF yard facilities in Superior, the Midwest Energy Coal Dock in Superior, and the North Shore Scenic Railroad & Museum in Duluth, among others.

Scholarships are available to all students to help cover costs associated with the program.

In addition to the railroad program, participants will get to live on the MTU campus throughout the week, which can serve as a great tour/taste of Michigan Tech for those looking ahead to college!

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MAY 1ST!
