Delta Airlines

Unread post by James Sofonia »

I live right under the "28" approach to Traverse City airport. This weekend I saw for the first time a large aircraft (for Traverse City) an Airbus I think with a Huge lettering of "Delta" on the belly of the aircraft. No more guessing who is coming in.

You must not look up very often. Delta has flown larger jets up here for years (in fact NWA did too before Delta bought them). I fly Delta 12-20 times a year out of TVC (I am Gold Elite with Delta, so I try to avoid American and United). We get A320, A319, MD-88, B-717, and before they were retired, DC-9's. I just got off an A320 last week (and flew out on a B717). Delta does have CRJ700's, CRJ900, EM175 and still an occasional CRJ200 (under the Delta Connection name). AA and United are always CRJ200, CRJ700, CRJ900, EM145, EM175.

We get the occasional Sun Country Airlines B737 (last time was about 2 weeks ago) charter flight. And Trump brought his B757 earlier this year (same day Bernie has his B737 here, parked wright next to the 757!

Oh I look up all the time and have seen and flown the aircraft you mentioned. My point was the large "DELTA" on the bottom of the plane like Michael posted I hadn't seen before. I took some cell phone pictures of Donald and Bernie's planes thru the fence but couldn't get close enough for a good picture. I did a little better with a shot I got from 3 mile rd. of Trump 1 taking off.

Ah, gotcha! I read it as first time seeing the bigger jets. :)

Anyway, I just started noting the belly paint in the last month (I could always tell Delta jets with the blue belly, but someone must have some extra paint and marketing $$, LOL.

Was the Trump jet spitting out casino chips?

That's part of Delta's current paint scheme. New deliveries and repaints will be done the same way.

I wish I flew your frequency... I'm at 78 MQS (segments) already, and it's not even the half-way point for 2016. Basement model railroad has been stalled for years since I'm never home long enough to work on it - Diamond status ain't worth the "clinky" metal tags they give you IMO, especially when you could be home running trains.

I've flown Delta a few times this year and I have to say, I'm really digging their in-air wifi with free movies and TV shows. Even a few of the smaller jets offered the wifi. Are any other airlines offering free movies? Sure makes the flights go by quickly!

United has been doing it for at least three years now. I've used it on both United and Delta. Not sure about any others.
