Almost reminds me of getting my boat from the dock to the lake and back, and I don't have a bow thruster. OK, maybe not quite the same.
On a side note, it is very impressive to see how they cut the engine room out of the back of a ship and remove the entire pilot house structure to make it a barge. When I was in Marinette, WI last summer for the Thompson boat rally, the had a couple old freighters in the river that were in the process of being converted into barges. There is also one in Muskegon that has the stern converted, but still has all of the pilot house structure still in place. Looks like they use it that way.
