Oh yeah and since we are counting pistons technically that includes air compressors and refrigeration units so add another 5

Hopefully someday will have zero when I have a couple of Tesla's in the driveway, or when autonomous driving becomes the standard, and a car only shows up in my driveway when I need a lift, and flees when I'm done with it, ready for another rider.

SK,

That is an impressive collection of cylinders and I thought you would win the prize till EW weighed in. I kinda had "manly" internal combustion power tools and toys in mind for this but you guys are getting creative with refrigeration and air compressors.

Ah.. Cadillac. 8 cylinders and uses them all. I bet you don't feel any pain when riding in that car.

I sure don't! It's only got 74k on it and air ride. Rides better than anything I've ever driven!

Don't count modern refrigerators and A/C units. Most of them use some form of a rotary screw compressor (Think roots blower) , actual piston pumps are actually kind of rare and where they do show up its usually a swash plate pump and will have 3-8 pistons.

So now I know I have a problem. I just sold a diesel engine for a sailboat. In the process of that, I uncovered a few more engines. I found a Honda engine from a salt spreader, a gas powered pump, and the one I am embarrassed I forgot is the Rail Rod. I also just aquired a '58 Johnson 18hp outboard. 117. I really need to get rid of some equipment.

So did your cylinder count go up even with the loss of the diesel?
