Found 5, lost 1. That takes me from 112 to 116. Plus I was getting some tooling off my lathe tonight and saw my two Wilesco steam engines and a Cox .051 airplane engine on the shelf. Add three more for 119.

Your count is good, but you won't win the prize (free gas for a year I think) with only 15. The judges haven't voted yet as they have to throw out some inactive entries, pistons laying under the bench, etc. We are also going to disqualify refrigeration compressors as you don't really know whats in those sealed units. And if you cut them open to look, they don't work anymore, and are still disqualified. :)

I think I'm at 0. The only cylinder I can think of is in the air compressor I use for airbrushing, and I don't think that counts, does it? (I understand the fridge compressor was also ruled out.)

I was the one who started this thread. I had in mind combustion engines but didn't state that. So some people in fun have gotten creative to boost their count with air compressors etc. Sometimes we have to make the rules up as we go along. So I would say refrigeration is out, as well as equipment that hasn't been used in a least a year. Air compressors, umm why not! You're in. The theme of the whole thread was that cylinders are sort of a "manly" thing.

I just picked up a forklift today. A vintage "Clark Clipper". Had a cute little Continental Y91 four cylinder. I guess that takes me to 123. I am going to have to start selling some stuff.
