I'm guessing what used to be the Michigan Line, now Amtrak I guess, between August and Galesburg, with M-96 that it looks like we're standing on.

Yep, that's just east of Galesburg, MI at MP 134 on the NS/Amtrak Michigan Line with M-96 at the right in Charleston Township, Kalamazoo County. That's either Amtrak train# 350 or 352 from Chicago to Pontiac. For my rest of the story, please see that page that Buster Manning mentioned above.

Sorry for the repeat post. Props to Hogger1225 though for guessing the location.

I might have had an unfair advantage, operated over that line hundreds (at least) of times when I worked for PC, CR, and NS. I remember when it was still double track.

It's the spur line to the Kaiser Aluminum Common Alloy on Kaiser Drive, north off of the CN Kilgore Yard, east of S. Sprinkle Road, Comstock Township, Kalamazoo County. Park Circle drive run to that plant. About 6 miles southeast of Kalamazoo.

Correct, pretty quick find. I'm headed there Thursday and while browsing map of how to get there, thought it would be good to post :)

It's Olds Avenue, looking east , towards the GM Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant (formerly Oldsmobile plant) along the old Lansing Belt Line RR now owned by the JAIL RR all in Lansing, Ingham County.

Olds Ave in Lansing is indeed correct. Thought the cars in the distance, triple smokestack to the left would help. And lolz about the SE, SW, NE, or NW Michigan guess :) Technically, I think of Lansing as none of those 4 quadrants :)

Here's another where be it. I'd have to answer a no if RailRod guesses with the same guess again, but it is indeed in Michigan :)

MPC Cashway lumber Looking south from Grand River Avenue.

Edit to add: This is on the Plymouth sub between Ensel and Grand ledge. Just west of the Capitol City Airport.
