Yes, RR-40 if I'm correct, heading for NS Sterling Yard if I'm correct, That yard job is near Dearborn Street, in Delray, Detroit, Wayne County.

BD-07 shoving back from Zug Island to Oakwood. RR40 works Lincoln Yard on Lincoln Secondary. Sterling is a Conrail yard.

Actually, BD-7 is shoving west toward West End Street and Delray on the old Union Belt (later Wabash, now NS) toward the Rouge River, as that yard job shown in that shot above. Correct?

Conrail SA Connecting RR, aka Marsh Track, between Conrail SA River Rouge Yard and the old DT&I South yard crossing W. Jefferson Avenue looking northwest from the W. Jefferson Avenue just southwest of the Rouge River in River Rouge, Wayne County.

Conrail SA Connecting RR between Conrail SA River Rouge Yard and the old DT&I South yard crossing W. Jefferson Avenue looking northwest from the W. Jefferson Avenue just southwest of the Rouge River in River Rouge, Wayne County.

Not to steal tcamps thunder. But this is the short marsh industrial track, runs from the "Bridge lead" at Rouge yard to the crossovers to the "Long Marsh" which is controlled by the operator at the "Short Cut Bridge". The other track railrod1949 mentioned is between Southfield road and Outer drive and leads to "Southyard. AND the U.S. Gypsum plant in the background. Train is heading down to the "Marsh" to the "R2P2" (quote from KenB).

For Conrail Detroit, where was the exactly photo location, from what street crossing in that shot of the BD-07 with NS engine no. 3481 and a long string of coal hoppers?

That was a great use of the angle for that photo. But you left just enough hints in the photo to figure it out right away.

Clues....... Yes, it's Michigan (S/E). Taken today. On a former ROW ( that was a subject of discussion here in the past), And..........GO!

Oh yeah. Google earth won't show it . NO I did not put it there. There is more than one sign.

That thing in the center of the picture has got to be either a "disguised" cell tower or the worlds most ugly tree.
