I never knew this signal was there. With all the signal upgrades around Plymouth, I assume it's now gone...So it is Plymouth then. Probably right here https://goo.gl/maps/oxEjmjDPRf12

No. This is actually the main line not a spur.

Yes, Lake State Raiway,Hemlock Road (M-55) and Court Street, in Tawas City, Arenac County. Looking east along Court Street and the former D&M Railroad line. US-23 and Tawas Bay both can be seen at the right. That steel beams at the right is part of the construction of a new Shell gas station. Final run of the remaining old D&M RR passenger train between Bay City and Alpena through Tawas City and East Tawas, was on March 31, 1951. White building at the left is the St. joseph Health System. Hemlock Road (M-55) can be seen in the foreground at the lower right corner.Mark F wrote:Hemlock Rd (M-55) & Court St in Tawas CityMichael wrote:

Easy one I think. I just like when Google Street View catches a moving train or in this case just an engine.

Yes, that the the Conrail SA spur line(Oakman Spur) that goes to the Kenwal Steel Corp. plant from connection with the CSX main line north of Rougemere Yard, Dearborn. that shot above is looking west along the spur line toward that connection from the Wyoming Avenue crossing in Detroit, Wayne County. The tall sign on the other side of the NS loco is belonged to the Detroit Auto Action Distribution Center.

Anyone recognize this lumberyard? Aerials show it has not had rail service since the '70's but the rails are still visible between the buildings

Cmon Michael. All your stuff is too hard these days. I haven't got one of these in several months. A little hint or in picture clue would help. wah wah.
Re: Where Is It?
Looks like the siding crossed the road. Main line tracks look like they would belong to a short line.

Re: Where Is It?
It is not a short line. If you look close there is an old code line pole in the ROW. I also erased the milepost which would have given the location away.
If I posted a photo from this crossing many people here would immediately know the location. It used to be 2 tracks. There is an old box car sitting nearby.

Northville Lumber on Baseline Rd. in Northville. I will let Rodney fill in all the other details.Michael wrote:It is not a short line. If you look close there is an old code line pole in the ROW. I also erased the milepost which would have given the location away.

Re: Where Is It?
Okie Dokie and thanks 80mac, As 80mac mentioned Northville Lumber yard is located on the north and Oakland County side of Base Line Road, just west of the CSX main line between north of Flint and Walbridge (OH) south of Toledo. Wayne County is on the south side of Base Line Road. All in Northville. That shot above is looking north. The lumber siding ran between the buildings and cross Base Line Road to a connection with the main line just south of that road. Final run of the remaining passenger train on the former C&O Railway line between Detroit and Bay City through Northville and Plymouth, was made on October 29, 1950.80mac wrote:Northville Lumber on Baseline Rd. in Northville. Re: Where Is It?
This location is not in Michigan, in fact not even the U.S.
First photo was taken in 1971 when the railroad was still active.
Second photo was taken in 2004
The rails end just past the station
