Neat, a picture of my uncle is on my website now, Bob Seger.
Ok, not the same spelling... back in schooldays, the number of times folks tried to pronounce my last name, and I said "like Bob Seger."

Is that a former Detroit Terminal line? Maybe near Rouge Yard?

Yes, indeed, its the old railroad spur viaduct over Lawton Street, just south of E. Hancock Street, looking east toward the connection with the CN Short Line Sub/Amtrak LIne main tracks. Just east of the Jeffries Freeway (I-96) all in the Core City section of Detroit.

No and no. All of the buildings in the background are still there. The turntable and stack are not. Almost all the tracks are gone.

All the tracks in the picture are gone.

I don't really think this is correct because nothing else matches, not even the photo angle. But the building in the back reminded me of the old chair factory in Grand Ledge (apartments now).

Grand Haven it is. The photographer was probably standing about where the mini golf is between Chinook Pier and the PM 1223 is parked today. Story & Clark is the factory in the background with the Kirby House to the far right. Sure is different today.
