Somewhere on the Grand Elk RR between Grand Rapids and the MI-IN border. In the latest shot above.

That is correct. The concrete pad in the foreground is the old Mosel Yard office.

Yes, it's the E. Mosel Avenue crossing the Grand Elk main line, looking south but the local freight is heading either northbound or southbound in Kamazoo Township, Kalamazoo County. Old Mosel Yard office concrete pad in the foreground with the former Pennsylvania RR Mosel yard behind the photographer's current position, Final run of the remaining passenger train on the old Pennsy summer months only between Fort Wayne, IN and Mackinaw City, was made on Friday, September 1, 1961 northbound Fridays only Fort Wayne to Mackinaw City and was made on Monday, September 4, 1961 southdbound Sundays only Mackinaw City to Fort Wayne. Those trains was called the Northern Arrow.

E. Dayton Road over the Cass River looking southwest along the river toward Metz Road (M-24), just southeast of Caro. The bridge abutments on both sides of the river were parts of the bridge that carried the old DBC&W RR that ran between Sandusky and Bay City. In Indiansfield Township, Tuscola County.

Not in Michigan - as far as I can tell, this is the (blank)ern most point of connected to the main network railroad tracks that are located in the contiguous united states.

The next contender is ~ 35 miles shorter. It used to be ~ 30 miles shorter.
But this sometime ago was the clear winner, by far.

Judging by a palm tree use as a landmark, this must be in California or Florida.

The other contender is Brownsville TX in your mind, right? Trackage there not too much further north than Homestead.
