Taking a hint from the engine numbers the location is Lawton.
Lawton, MI is correct. Look REALLY closely and you can see the stone depot in the background. This was taken just before the local backed into Welch's and set off the tank car there.

Yes, indeed, it's Lawton, MI on the NS/Amtrak Line looking northeast from the Walker Street crossing in Lawton, Van buren County. The NS local based in Burns Harbor, IN switches the Welch's plant between Walker Street and M-40. Looking northeast toward Kalamazoo. Amtrak trains 350, 351, 352, 353, 354 and 355 operates between Pontiac and Chicago thru Lawton. Amtrak trains 364 and 365 operates between Port Huron and Chicago through Lawton.
Baldwin Road just north of Chesaning on the GLC.
I recognized it from trolling around on Google Maps
Trolling has it's advantages you got it.
Yes, indeed, it's Baldwin Road just north of Chesaning on the GLC in Chesaning Township, Saginaw County. Looking north along the former New York Central System Saginaw Branch. Final run of the remaining passenger train nos. 390/391 between Jackson and bay City through and stops in Chesaning, was made on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day morning, 1959.
N. Arnold Road, Williamsburg, crossing the GLC between Traverse City and Williamsburg in Acme Township, Grand Traverse County. The shot above is looking east along the GLC RR Williamsburg branch toward just pass by the Turtle Creek Casino and Hotel to the end of that trackage at. N. Williamsburg Road. Tractor Supply Co. store (as DaveO mentioned) located at the NE corner of N Arnold Road and M-72 just south of the shot above. Final run of the remaining passenge train on the former C&O Railway between Traverse City and Petoskey, train nos 25/26 that ran on Saturdays only in summer 1962 was made on September 1, 1962. It was cutback from its daily runs April 30, 1962.
Nice one Michael. I looked all over the state at E/W rails except in my own backyard. I can see the casino water tower in the distance now that I know where it is. I should have taken a clue I noticed of the hops farm, they are all over in that area.
