This ROW goes back to the 1830's and the portion in this photo was used up until the 1970's under the name PENN CENTRAL

This was also the location of the "Bloodiest battle in Michigan", a long time ago. I do miss working there, even though the tracks were gone by the time I got to work here.

Jason, There aren't much of any rules. Generally speaking the locations are assumed to be in Michigan but people do post locations from other places and will mention the state. We've even had some outside the US.

Yes, that's at SE corner of 3rd and Adams streets on the old ex LS&MS's Monroe branch that ran between Lenawee Junction and Monroe, in Monroe, MI., Wayne County. The shot above is looking north. It's west off the connection with former LS&MS Detroit Line, now NS Detroit Line,

This is the old NYC connection/bypass that ran from 28th St. (present day Grand Elk to the former CP Watson, and its located over Plaster Creek in Roosevelt Park. Its been featured on here a few times, and its one of 3 bridge remnants in about a 100 yard span stretching from here North to Godfrey ave. This is the southern most remnant and the most intact.

Might I add this is also one of 3 bridges on this short stretch over Plaster Creek, and one of four water crossings. I've explored this entire line heavily and been on this bridge as well as the heavily eroded bridge near the Clyde Park/Burton intersection. The northern portion is now the Oxford Street Trail and beyond that is industrial trackage in the Joe Brown/Padnos Scrap facility.
