The South Bend Sub doesn't go through Kalamazoo, but not west of Kalamazoo none the less.

If you have a time table this ought to be easy.

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

Yes, indeed, looking north from E. MN Avenue at the defect detectors MP 166.6 on the CN South Bend Sub, just north and east of Climax, in Charleston Township. Kalamazoo County.

This one might be easy as the picture comes up in web searches quite often. Three railroads once crossed here. One through route and one branch remain.

The three were the GR&I (later Pennsylvania, later PC, later Conrail, later NS, now Grand Elk RR), next was the old Lake Shore and Michigan Southern RR (later NYC, later PC, now a GDLK RR branch line to Otsego where the Otsego paper mill is located, that the GSLK serve) and third railroad was the Michigan United Railway Interurban railroad. Old LS&MS RR depot was east of the old LS&MS and south of what is now M-89. The old GR&I depot and the interlocking tower were on the west side of the old GR&I and north of M-89. All in Plainwell, Allegan County.

The interurban was Michigan United Railway. The line between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids was considered one the best engineered lines in the U.S. in it's day.

Ok this one is not in Michigan and not even in the US. Note the rail in the foreground.
