Virus Hits Half a Million Macs

Article about how Apple no longer is virus-proof (kinda funny in some spots too  )

There's always been viruses & spyware out there for Mac. However they never really 'caught on' like most PC ones do. What is more to the point is that lots of people are being infect by this new Trojan (I've seen conflicting reports, as to what it is. I'm going to use the BBC's term and say it's a Trojan), and are having issues as up until now Virus & Spyware protection on a Mac is something most people went without.

If you do have a Mac; you should get a Virus & Spyware scanner. There are a few out there & available. Norton ( http://us.norton.com ) offers Mac software. McAfree ( http://www.mcafee.com ) offers software as well. As does Kaspersky: http://usa.kaspersky.com

People used to brag about Macs never getting infected and I would tell them it was because no one wanted to waste their time making a virus to infect the 3 people out there who owned them.
Although that was during the period before the IPhone et al. Things have certainly changed.

Yeah- I've only been a 20 year + Mac user, and grudgingly had to deal with PC's at work, and not once had a major hardware failure, or a virus, when I think back on all of the time I saved not dealing with PC problems, I am quite satisfied with my decision. And no I'm not going to put a bunch anti-virus crap on my Mac and slow it down. I'm not concerned in the least.

I get a virus, I just revert back to a mirrored copy of my HD, using Carbon Copy Cloner.....simple as that.

Besides, the reality is that PC's are now going to be dead, as tablets are taking over the computer industry.
