Sad, but it's one of the worst rail accidents of modern Europe, and only 10 are dead. Over 5000 Germans die in automotive accidents each year. Rail is still MUCH safer than roadway transportation, despite these isolated incidents. I'm sure that more Americans die monthly from tresspassing/grade crossing incidents than rail passengers in the industrialized world as a whole die annually from railroad crashes.
