Size question

Any one know why, when I submit photos to the "big site" railroadpictures, dose it change the size. I had 6 photos rejected yesterday, because they did not meet the size requierment (or as they say close to), of 800 x 600 pixles. But yet, when I go back and check, I have saved it to my computer, say around 875 X 610. Then I go to there site, click on a enlarged photo, and look at the properties, it says that it is like 730 X 550. How is that? Isint that somthing on there end, and not my fault, I submited as the proper size.

On Railpictures.net, here's their requirements:

Photos must be at least 800 pixels in width x 600 pixels in height for horizontal images, or at least 600 pixels in height for verticals. Photos not meeting these requirements will be rejected. Optimal size for uploaded images is 1024 pixels wide x 768 pixels high and at a similiar ratio.


I've even sent in photos that were 1000 pixels by 690 pixels, rejected for bad file size. They really want all current photos taken to be as close to 1024 x 768 without going over that size...picky picky they are. Currently, if you upload photos up to 3000 pixels wide or tall, my size will resize them to 1024 pixels wide or tall...although i prefer you send them in as 1024 max to begin with...causes problems with trip reports when I delete the original huge picture size.
