Model Railroad Videos

Unread post by BB »

Here's a thread I've started last Feb. at ModelRailroadforurms.com that has a few model railroad videos.
http://www.modelrailroadforums.com/foru ... .php?t=992

Made this one last night which I think is neat with the real audio.

Man that was awesome makes me wish I still had my old modular layout to give it a try, I especially like how you kept the train speed down to a more prototypical speed, Too often a great model railroad is ruined by the modeler running his train at full throttle 110mph like the thing weighs nothing and totally destroying the illusion they are trying to portray.

Keep up the great work.

Hay BB, how bouts some low down on the layout. Is it fictonal, based on a real line, ect. From what I have seen of it, it looks like heavy CSX influnce (oh wait is there any other?).

Next Time

Unread post by Mr. Tops »

Next time you should push the car a little further. :P I actually thought your train was going to hit the car that time. I too was surprised. That'd be a cool ad for OLS. Dare I say I like desctruction. Yes, I know it's not a good thing at all. Atleast in reality..it's horrible. But on a layout...well, you wouldn't want to wreck your models. When I was a kid, I had a layout, but was more interested in making pile-ups (whether they were real or staged), than simulating real operations. I was the kid in the back of the class smashing his matchbox cars together. The teacher noticed, was concerned, but hey...I turned out just fine!

No pics of the whole layout yet. Not a lot to see but if I get stuff cleaned up I'll take some.

Totally agree with that. Most of the O scale layouts I see on TV have their trains going fast especially around sharp curves. Here's the fastest engine on my roster. http://webpages.charter.net/d712/Movie_0052.wmv

How about who's driving this car. http://webpages.charter.net/d712/Movie_0055.wmv

Layout first started out as a 4'x8' board for a electric race car set and then I put a train set up and over the years added some more bench work and now I'm building around the walls of the basement. Mostly CSX since I grew up with that but have locomotives from other roads.

The car is a Pontiac Firebird for a $1.67 at a Wal-Mart in Iowa. Finally cheap HO scale vehicles for a layout.

Once again thanks for the comments guys, motivates me to make more.

Excellent video. Love the one with the train vs car as long as it ain't the real thing. I have been trying to build a layout and have had nothing but problems. You got any layout diagrams or is it all fictional?
