I commented on the photgrapher's picture and asked how long it takes to paint a locomotive and his response was:
Here is CSX 780 in the paint booth as well.It normally takes about 24 hours for a locomotive to be painted. They come in and are washed, then any decals are scraped off. They then move to the blast room and are sandblasted, then moved to the paint booth and are painted. 2517 started on second shift and was finished on second shift the next day.
