CN Zebra stripe locos.

Unread post by sd70accsxt700 »

Aleks, or any one else that might have some, I am looking for photos, preferbaly nice clear bright shots, of CN Zebra stripe GP40-2W's, GP38-2W's, and SD40-2W's, for a up comming modeling project. What I need, is ones that have the pealing paint/fading problem (you know the ones where the black and white strips are gone). If you could e-mail them to me msmithcsxt700@hotmail.com, I would find it verry helpful. Thanks

I'll check what I've shot digitally. I know I'd have slide shots.
I'll keep an eye out for some in the future.
If I shoot new photo's do you need 3/4 shots, broadside, just the hood or what?

I have quite a few of the loco its self, 3/4 would be good, if you "have your wits about you" and happen to think of it, a close up of the faiding, or the side of the hood, would be even better. I am looking at ways to model the faiding, and any shots of them would help.

CN SD40 with faded Zebra stripes

Unread post by Aleks »

Matt, here is the only good digital shot of a unit with the effect I think you are looking for.
I think it was on 398 but I'd have to look back in my notes.
It's a CN SD40, one of only 3 that were still left on the active roster at that time.

By the way Matt, you have my permission to save those if you'd like to.

Gregg do you have the one with the 9530, comming past the depot, in color, or just B&W, if you have it in color, please post it.
