Garth Hudson, the last surviving member of the highly influential and experimental music group The Band, has died aged 87. He ‘passed away peacefully in his sleep’ at his nursing home in Woodstock, New York, according to the Toronto Star

Celebrity jeweley designer Lynn Ban died in a skiing accident on Monday. She was 51.

Singer and actress Marianne Faithfull has died at the age of 78, her spokesperson has said.

Faithfull’s hits included As Tears Go By, which was written by The Rolling Stones’ Sir Mick Jagger, her boyfriend in the 1960s, and Keith Richards.

In addition to her music career, Faithfull also acted in films including The Girl on a Motorcycle, as well as theatre productions.

John Shumate, who sparked Notre Dame to the 1974 upset of UCLA that snapped the Bruins' record 88-game winning streak, has died. He was 72. He also played for the Detroit Pistons.

One of the Baltimore Orioles former players has sadly passed away.

Rich Dauer, the second baseman on the 1983 World Series-winning team, has died at the age of 72 in an announcement made by the Orioles.

Detroit broadcasting legend Al Allen has died

From Mumford High School to the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame, broadcaster Al Allen spent nearly five decades reporting news in Detroit.

The Little Rock, Arkansas, native died Tuesday night at a Metro Detroit hospital, according to Fox 2 Detroit. He was 79.

Allen is preceded in death by his wife Alfreda Long, who died in 2023. They had a son, Andrew Long Jr. and two grandsons. According to Fox 2 Detroit, funeral and visitation details are pending.

Longtime NFL player and coach Dick Jauron, who led the Chicago Bears to the playoffs and was voted AP Coach of the Year in 2001, died Saturday. He was 74.
