DT&I Orange
I recently got an M3H and would like to give it a new paint job (the current paint is not original). The horn’s history is unknown and one of the bells isn’t original, but I’d like to paint it in DT&I orange. What is the closest orange I can find that comes in a spray can?

Re: DT&I Orange
A friend has a fleet of meticulously detailed DT&I engines. He uses a mixture of 50/50 reefer yellow and bright caboose red.
He said TCS might have an exact match now.

Re: DT&I Orange
I appreciate the reply, and I’m sure it works great for models, but I’m looking for a single color that I can get in a spray can. Painting it by hand would take considerably longer and I’d be afraid it wouldn’t look as good.

Hemi orange is pretty close.

I agree with SD80MAC on the hemi orange suggestion, be warned however that it doesn’t age well over time.

Re: DT&I Orange
Chris, If you have a small piece of something that has authentic DT&I orange paint on it, take it to your local Sherwin-Williams store. They have a paint scanner than can detect the exact shade of color and possibly have a can mixed for you.
