Pixl is very close. USM occupies the east section of the building but someone else occupies the back. A scrap metal company was back there and shipped by rail, then it closed, but it appears someone else moved in but are not using rail. This used to be the GE Tank plant and shipped a lot by rail.

WHO AM I???

Unread post by NYCMan »

Instead of a "Where am I?", how about a "WHO AM I?". This picture is of a famous railfan from Michigan. He loved trains. Can anyone guess who he is?

No warrant out for this guy at this time, since he is deceased. And, since he is deceased, he can't be PIXL!

The site of the former tank plant. To the left across the tracks is TACOM the Detroit Arsenal. Switced both sides a time or two.;-)

What is this bridge spanning besides Southern Ave? I thought it might be a canal because it looks so straight, and spent a lot of time looking around the Clinton/Kalamazoo canal

Townline ahead or west. West Detroit behind or east. This is the Michigan line and just to the left is the west end of Conrails Livernois yard. Miller road bridge is beyond the rr bridges and C.P.Lou is to the right of the picture.

It looks, to me, like the track that runs from upper left to lower right is missing :?

I don't know what track your talking about because I see no evidence of a track ever going in those directions AARR.
