Conrail addition

Conrail's fleet of about 1900 locomotives have been split up between Nrofolk Southern
and CSX. With NS reciving 58% of the fleet and CSX 42% of it. The following is a
complete list of what exact numbers CSX will get. With the loco model, current and
future number series listed starting with slugs and 4 - axles.

~CSXT HAD ONLY 56 VACANT SPOTS IN THEIR ROSTER BETWEEN THEIR OWN SD50'S
AND 60'S, SO THEY HAD TO NUMBER THE FIRST UNIT AHEAD OF THEIR OWN FLEET OF
SD50'S DUE TO THE FACT THEY GOT 57 UNITS FROM CONRAIL~

NOTE ~1~ These units never recieved this number series due to an additional
order CSXT placed with GMDD for more of their own SD70MAC's. These unit received
numbers 775 - 789.

NOTE ~2~ CSXT eventually recieved all these units. The units that went to NS
came to CSX in a trade with the NS for the CSXT C30-7a's and the C32-8's.

NOTE ~3~ These units were traded to the NS for the C36-7's. Most were
sold or scrapped. All are retired from the NS now also.

NOTE ~4~ Unit 8886 is a SD45-2 but reclassed to a SD40-2 after having its 20 cylinder
prime mover replaced with a 16 cylinder prime mover.

NOTE ~5~ CSXT transformed former Conrail 6663 into an SD40-2 the same way as 8886.

NOTE ~6~ CSXT recieved two SD40-2s from the NS,
Numbered 8887 and 8888. They are former Conrail 6406 and 6410.
Its unknown to me if the NS ever had them numbered
into their series.

NOTE ~7~ Unit 6663 reclassed SD40-2.

NOTE ~8~ CSXT will recieve 3 more GP38's in the 7900 series and 3 more in the 7910 series.



Please remember this info if from before the actual merger took place. These were all subject to change but have turned out to be pretty acurate.
