Railfanning Imlay City on 4/23/22

Unread post by David Collins »

Yesterday, myself and my friends (JT Ratliff and Chris Cole) made the trek to Imlay City for the evening. It was okay…ish, we saw 4 trains in 6 hours, which is good for the Flint sub east of Flint, I guess?

I will note we did wait for an hour and 15 minutes with a green light waiting on M396 with one of the last GECX Blue ET44AC demonstrator engines trailing.

I, as the duo videographer/photographer was NOT happy, the lighting there for photos at night is awful and I accidentally had left my remote flashes battery’s at home. The videos, on the other hand, the videos came out great (I’m taking a break from YouTube so I can really focus and finish out my senior year, I’ll update this thread when I upload the video).

Here’s the pictures, I’m putting a second post in to include the forth photo:

Picture 1: Eastbound CN Autorack train E274 glides east through Imlay City with a large flint pickup in tow.

Picture 2: Eastbound CN Manifest train M396 races east through Imlay City, it’s hard to tell, but the second engine is one of the last blue/hump Tier 4 demonstrators.

Picture 3: Amtrak’s blue water, P364, races east with a long exposure photo.
