On the afternoon of February 18, I caught CSX local job Y121 switching two of Zeeland's three active railroad customers. With fresh fallen snow from the weekend and clear, crisp blue skies, it was one of those rare west Michigan days every photographer hopes for!

GP38-3 #2048 has two lumber loads for Zeeland Lumber. The conductor is cleaning the switch points before realigning to back the train onto the spur.

After setting off the two loads and picking up one empty, the reassembled train moved east on the MJ lead toward Vanden Bosch Feed where they would pick up one empty covered hopper.

After clearing off the Centennial Street crossing, the short train diverged onto Vanden Bosch's lead with the Feel the Zeel water tower in the background.

Near the Holland-Zeeland line, behind a Michigan Centennial Farm, Y121 returns west on the mainline with its short train: caboose #904091, empty centerbeam, GP38-3 #2048, and BNSF covered hopper.

Thanks GP30. I like reports about switching customers :) .

Note: I'm still not used to those cabs CSX put on their rebuilt SD40-2's and GP38-2's. They are sooooo butt-ugly :| .
