Great pictures CRD! Thanks for posting here .
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
Re: NS Pittsburgh Line - 10.22 / 10.24
Wonderful Photos! Looks like you had good weather.
Not to nitpick, but the Control Point at Cresson is "MO". "UN" is on the Westbound side at Gallitzin.
First time I was there at "MO", the tower was open and the Eastbound signals were on the jumpover bridge (1992). By the time I made it back, the signals were on masts, the jumpover bridge was gone, and the tower closed. Glad I got to see it the way it was, if only once. Awesome locations, Cresson and Gallitzin. Obviously, Altoona, as well.

Nice report. Unfortunately, that's about as good as the fall colors got.

Re: NS Pittsburgh Line - 10.22 / 10.24
Great photo series. NS tuxedos don't have the same visual draw for me as the Conrail Blue of yore but it's great to see a vital operation in full force - mainline, new signals, Altoona shops, etc. There are many Amtrak routes which cross the Alleghenies but the Pennsylvanian is one of my favorites. Maybe I like to be in the shadow of the Broadway Limited! The PA scenery isn't bad, either.
