Fostoria OH 8/20/2017

This weekend,I got to go to the Fostoria Iron Triangle Rail Park for 2 hours to catch some times and I was not disappointed. I saw 10-12 trains in the short stretch of time. Unfortunately, most of time the trainswere on the ex-B&O main, not very good when all I had was my phone camera! (The visit was late minute and not planned out)

All told: 1 CSX train on the ex-C&O from the north
1 NS train on the ex-NKP from the west
8-10 CSX trains on the ex-B&O (half and half eb/wb)

(Side-rant:I know the built the viewing platform in its location for a reason but given how much busier the ex-B&O is compared to the Ex-C&O and Ex-NKP, it would have made more sense (to me) to have the platform closer to the B&O...end rant)

Here is some of the photos I managed to take:

Yeah I never agreed on where they put the platform either. It may have just been for safety to keep the crowds away from the busiest line. I miss the days when we would just pull up to the depot and camp out there.

Where was the depot may I ask?

And in any case, everything is fenced in so Idk how much worse it could be to have the crowds near the busiest line .

The CSX depot is on S. Main St.

I'm not sure who donated the land that the rail park sits on. If it was CSX it could have been a requirement to put the viewing platform where it is away from the CSX tracks. Although I have no idea, just a wild guess on my part.

Thanks for pointing out the depot for me!

As for the viewing platform,CSX did donate the land for the rail park and its not facing the busiest line at all. Thats all I know lol
