AMTK 515 was the leader on the Southwest Chief back in June 1992 when my dad and I took the train to Flagstaff AZ. We had a crew change at Trinidad or La Junate Co (would need to look at my pics) so dad and I got off the train and went up to the head end. The crew that was getting off the train was pulling a very large dead owl out from just above the coupler on AMTK 515. They had hit it earlier the night before and wanted to see exactly what it was. They though it was an eagle do to the wingspan but it was a very large owl.
I've only ever seen this locomotive one other time and that was on a railfan DVD. Never have caught it in person since 1992.

All those double slip switches at CP Taylor are amazing!

Really nice shots.

I'm looking at that mall on Canal st, and trying to figure out just how long it has been since I've been to downtown Chicago.
