I spent the afternoon on Detroit's east side

Conrail caboose on the end of Conrail NY7

With a shoving platform for the afternoon's switching duties

NS 29G with BNSF power for Conrail Sterling Yard

CN 515 switching lumber cars at CN Nolan Yard

CN 533 with a BCOL C40-8M. This had to be turned at Milwaukee Junction to run long hood forward for the remainder of it's trip to Moterm. The crew was NOT happy

I like your report and pictures, ogauge.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Great report and pics. What a pain in the butt it would be to run that thing backwards.

It was a great day. The Engineer looked at us with the saddest look on his face as he went by.

Could be worse, and not much different from pushing a train, still can't see crap and have to rely on your conductor/brakeman to be your eyes.
What smells like lube oil and diesel.... Oh wait it's just my "Locomotive Breath"

At CP Bonita, NY-7 was a caboose hop while gathering their train.

Thanks for posting, CRDetroit. The lumber distributer at Nolan gets a lot of cars. I'm old enough to remember when that was a yard for storing derelict rail cars.
