Pure Michigan Trains Oct 2015: Thunder Pumpkins of Saugatuck Hill!

In this October Edition of Pure Michigan Trains:

We're travelling to the formidable Saugatuck Hill, the manned helper district of Michigan, on the CSX Grand Rapids Sub-division.

We chase an N903, fresh from the Powder River Basin, as they receive assistance to summit the hill.

In the process, despite a running start, they fall to just walking speed as the power roars at full throttle. Seeing as the power is orange and it is the month October, there's no better way to describe it than "Thunder Pumpkins"!

- (b) 57th St xing, at 13:15 EDT
*(a) Helping N903 up Saugatuck; (b) returning lite to Wells for the original coal train tied down there*
