Recent Trip to Durand, MI

Unread post by GTWwatcher »

This is a summary of what I saw on a recent trip to Durand.

I arrived in the parking lot just in time to see an HESR freight pulling out of the yard and onto the Port Huron Wye.

The train was lead by HESR 3037 and HESR 2029 with at least 30 cars in the manifest.

The train stopped and shoved back into the yard, probably heading to Saginaw.

The next train I saw was at 3:53 heading up the Holly Sub. It was CN 471 according to my scanner.

This CN mixed freight was lead by CN 2178, CN 2634, and BNSF 4470 with 45 cars, including a brand new looking orange BNSF autorack.

The last train I saw was at 4:07 and had to wait for the HESR freight to clear the yard before heading into the yard itself. CN L502.

The train was lead by CN 2323, CN 5743, and GTW 5936, which I believe is the last GTW SD40 painted in the original GT scheme. This freight had 26 cars.

The train backed down the Port Huron Wye and shoved into the yard.

That's what I saw in about an hour and a half at Durand. Thanks for reading!
