2 daily freights, Q334 and Q335, a local from Lansing and GR and another local eastbound from Lansing sometimes as far as Howell, and as needed grain trains and even coal. Although I remember BL2-1843 posting a couple times this past winter that there were no trains in a over 24 hours. The GR Sub is a little busier, with coal trains daily, and 3 manifests, a local, and the two Amtraks.Toppysager wrote:How busy is the Plymouth Sub nowadays?

Need to correct the locals:
- D707: Sun-Thu Lansing to GR turn
- D708: Mon-Fri Lansing to Howell turn
- Y106: Mon-Fri GR to Elmdale turn
And let's not forget the occasional coal or stone train.

Do engineers and conductors get extra pay for these monster trains?

So using your "logic", I guess crews that get called to move a power pack should be paid less?hoborich wrote:More work involved!

Conductors used to get paid slightly more if they handled over a certain number of cars. I don't remember the threshold. Engineers used to get paid by the axle for each locomotive handled. Both have fallen by the wayside as far as I know in favor of simplified pay via "trip rate".

That's the answer I was looking for. Thanks!
