396: RBBB Circus Train

Ep. 396: Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey "Red" Circus Train

RBBB's Red Unit train heads into Grand Rapids, Michigan in September, 2014 with "The Greatest Show on Earth". Moving from city to city, the production rides aboard a mile-long train, including everything from stock cars to sleeping accommodations to show elements.

First stop is Wayland, as the train rolls northward on the Grand Elk Railroad.

Second we see them at 36th Street in Grand Rapids, passing the former site of GM's Fisher Body Plant, which was closed in the Great Recession and since torn down. GDLK stores railcars on the unused yard tracks here.

Finally we see the headed on the Hughart Runner near Downtown, as the train gets headroom for yarding into GDLK's Hughart Yard.
