That BC Rail is a C44-9W and not a C40-8W

Feel free to pick the perfect location and pull off the perfect shoot on your first or second try then Y@. At least he's giving people the opportunity to do these things.

Besides, as long as those who PARTICIPATED felt they got their money's worth, who asked you anyway?

I wasn't bashing. And frankly, I don't care if nobody asked. He's asked for help time and time again, and I threw my two cents in. Don't care what response I get from him or anybody else.

I cry "bologna" on that. Leading with "sub-par" isn't bashing? Again, you spoke with your wallet. As long as those who actually put their money on the table were happy, you've got no right to critique how it was handled. Perhaps if you want to add your $.02 then next time pony up, and be there to offer your expertise in railroad photography.

You try to grab orders like that and you'll risk missing the orders or losing your thumb.

BTW, never once have I claimed to be an expert at railroad photography. I'd like to think that I've greatly improved with help from several others, but no way am I an expert. Here's what I will say, James is no expert either. He seems to think that he knows what he's doing, but in reality, it's very obvious that he's struggling with it. The help is there, along with the potential, but he's the man at the top. Therefore, it all reflects upon him. That's all.

Thank you for the comments Russ, Brent and Don. I really appreciate the positive outcome we had and the set of photos that was available. In talking with a few others (including Steve Berry over at R&R), it seems that the consensus is the RPO shot was a major head turner as no one else has attempted that kind of a photo and it seems that some more people may take that idea and run with it. It couldn't have been done without the rest of the team as well, Glenn, Tim and Matt all helped make this the best one so far. I hope we can get a few more people to attend and also any other ideas are more than welcome.

One thing I have learned with this shoot was to EXPERIMENT. If we had not seen what was accomplished before, it would have been a repeat of 2 years ago, we all sat down, took a fresh look at it and tried our best at the equipment, people and supplies on hand. I can't wait to do it again and make the next step up the ladder.

I could not have said it better myself. Y@ your unfounded James bashing has gotten to the point that you sound extremely childish.

I echo Typhoons, Brents, and Russ's sentiments...James may have his faults and shortcomings just like the rest of us. But he had the guts to go against failure and lived up to his billing with his project and succeeded. And I am proud of James for what he has accomplished.

A little black & white and/or sepia never hurt anyone...
